Troubleshooting the
Instrument
This appendix lists potential problems and suggested solutions for the NGC™
chromatography systems. You can obtain more information about your system by
registering for Consult Bio-Rad at www.bio-rad.com, where an online technical
support service offers an extensive database of frequently asked questions (FAQs).
Note:
To troubleshoot other Bio-Rad instruments and devices, such as the
BioFrac™ fraction collector and the C-96 autosampler, refer to their separate
documentation.
System and Sample Pumps
Symptom
Possible Cause
Possible Solution
The pumps do not
deliver the correct flow
rate.
The pumps might be out of
calibration.
Recalibrate the pumps. Start
ChromLab™ software and
select Tools > Calibrate Pump
Flow Rate. Complete the
calibration steps in the dialog
box.
The incorrect pump heads might
be mounted.
In ChromLab, verify that the
fluidic scheme shows the
correct configuration.
Verify that you are using the
correct pump heads for the
method.
