Recommended Cleaning and Storage Solutions
Table 15 lists the recommended cleaning and storage solutions for the proper care
of the NGC instrument.
 pH electrode storage buffer or pH 7 standard
buffer
 1:1 mixture of 4 M potassium chloride or
1 M potassium nitrate and pH 4 buffer

Outside surface Water or window cleaner on lint-free towelette
Caution: Do not spray water or other cleaning
solutions directly onto the surface of instrument.

Fluidics system 1 N NaOH followed by filtered water rinse
Pump wash 20% ethanol or 20% IPA
Column storage Refer to manufacturer’s recommendations
NGC system storage 20% ethanol or 20% IPA
pH electrode storage
Detector flow cells 2 ml of 2% Contrad (catalog #176-4118)
Let sit for 10 min. Flush with water followed by 20%
ethanol.
