31. Logon to the system as Administrator.
32. Click Start, right click the My Computer icon and select Manage.

sign to expand Local Users and Groups.
34. Click the Users folder.
35. Right click the >xptemp< user account and select Delete.
36. Click Yes to confirm.
37. Close the Computer Management window.
38. Continue with Internet Explorer 6.0 Security Update Installation on
page 2-34.
Upgrading Windows 2000
Professional to XP
Professional 1. Insert the Windows XP Professional CD-ROM into the CD drive.
The Auto-Run capability should start the application automatically. If it
does not, do the following:
a. Click Start
⇒
Run.
b. Enter this path or Browse to the setup.exe file on the CD.
>D:(or your CD-ROM drive letter)\setup.exe<
c. Click OK.
2. At the Welcome to Microsoft Windows XP screen, click Install
Windows XP.
3. At the Welcome to Windows Setup screen, select the Upgrade
(Recommended) option and click Next.
4. Select the “I accept this agreement” option and click Next.
5. Enter your Windows XP Professional Product Key and click Next.
6. Check the No, skip this step and continue installing windows option.
7. Click Next.
8. At the Getting Updated Setup Files screen, select the “Skip this step and
continue installing Windows.” option and click Next to begin the
Windows XP Professional upgrade.
