There are two possible selections:

Edge port

The default setting for the RSTP port point-to-point status is automatic.
With the automatic setting, the point-to-point status is True of the port is
operating in full-duplex mode. If the port is operating in half-duplex mode,
then the point-to-point status is False.

Figure 34 illustrates two AT-FS750/24 switches that have been connected
with one data link. With the link operating in full-duplex, the ports are point-
to-point ports.

If a port is operating in half-duplex mode and is not connected to any
additional bridges participating in STP or RSTP, then you need to
manually define the port as an edge port. The default setting for the edge
port status is False. For each port, you must manually configure this
setting. There is no automatic mode for the edge port setting.

Figure 35 illustrates an edge port on an AT-FS750/24 switch. The port is
connected to an Ethernet hub, which in turn is connected to a series of
Ethernet workstations. This is an edge port because it is connected to a
device operating at half-duplex mode and there are no participating STP
or RSTP devices connected to it.
