Application workload protection
The Application Manager lets you quickly configure protection for an application without
requiring you to have advanced knowledge of either Storage Mirroring Recover or your
application. The Application Manager discovers all servers running a designated
application in your environment so that you can determine which servers are not
protected. It gathers information about the environment from various sources (including
Storge Mirroring, Active Directory, and DNS) and automatically configures Storage
Mirroring Recover to protect that environment. It also performs a "health check" to make
sure that your configuration is correct. This check not only helps to reduce configuration
errors, but it also simplifies the setup process.
While the Application Manager greatly simplifies the process of configuring your
application for use with Storge Mirroring, HP recognizes that in some environments a
manual process for application configuration is more desirable. However, the manual
