You can also delete all modulation events for all parameters of the channel:

Press

SHIFT

+ Pad

10

(

Clear Auto

) to delete all modulation for all parameters of the focused

Sound or Group.

You can also record modulation from the step sequencer. For more information, see

Recording Modulation in Step Mode

.

11.4.1. Recording Modulation in Step Mode

You can also record modulation in Step mode. This is helpful when you want to set value changes

at a specific time in a Pattern.

To record modulation in Step Mode:

1.

Press and hold the pad(s) representing the step(s) you want to modulate (you may need to

use Knob 6 to navigate beforehand to the desired part of the Pattern). The displays will switch

to a mode similar to Control mode displaying parameter values.

2.

Like in Control mode, use Button 2 or 3 to select the Group or Sound level, respectively; press

PLUG-IN

or

CHANNEL

to display the Plug-ins or Channel properties at this level; use the 4-D

encoder to select the desired Plug-in slot or set of Channel properties, and use the Page

button (left of the displays) to select the Parameter page containing the parameter you want

to record modulation for. Only parameters that can be modulated will appear at the bottom of

the displays.

3.

While holding the pad(s), turn any of the Knobs 1–8 under the displays to edit the modulation

value of the corresponding parameter for this step.

The modulation values are recorded for this step.

11.4.2. Which Parameters Are Modulatable?

All the modulatable parameters are found in Plug-ins or Channel properties (for example, you

cannot modulate the Pattern Length or the Step Grid resolution). This means that all modulatable

parameters are found in a Parameter page of the Control area (when the software is in Arrange

view).

In order to be modulatable, parameters of Plug-ins and Channel properties have to meet the

following requirements:

• The parameter must be

controlled by a knob or a button

in the software. Most parameters

controlled by selectors (for example, for selecting an operating mode or a filter type) cannot be

modulated, however, there are a few exceptions.

• The parameter must be at the

Group or Sound level

. Parameters at the Master level cannot be

modulated.

This second rule is also true for Plug-ins: if a Plug-in is loaded at the Master level, its

parameters will not be modulatable, but the same Plug-in loaded at the Group or Sound

level will have its parameters modulatable.

Almost all parameters meeting these requirements can be modulated, the only exceptions being:
