WaveView 5-7
File
New
Set all parameters to their default startup setting.
Save
Save the existing configuration for later recall.
Load
Load a saved configuration.
Load a WBK16 Cal
File (WBK16 Only)
Load a WBK16 sensor calibration table. This command loads saved WBK16 calibration
data.
Note: This selection will not be available unless WaveView detects the presence of a
WBK16.
Exit
Leave the WaveView program.
Edit
Make All Channels
Inactive
This command places an “Off” in the On field of all of the channels. If your channel scan
includes only a few channels, it may be easier to make all of the channels inactive, then
turn on only those few channels that you want.
Make All Channels
Active
This command places an “On” in the On field of all of the channels.
Go To Row
This command pops up a dialogue box that allows you to enter a channel number to be
modified. For hardware configurations that contain a large number of channels, this is a
faster method of moving around than using the scroll bars.
Fill Down
When multiple cells within a column are selected, this command takes the top-most
selected cell and copies its contents to the selected cells below.
Auto-Zero Enabled
Channels
This command will zero out a DC offset signal on all of the channels that are “On” and have
Auto-Zero set to “Yes.”
Enable Spreadsheet
Reading Column
This command will cause all channels that are “On” to display an actual reading of the input
signal in the channel reading column. This column is updated with new readings at a rate
of four times per second.
Disable Spreadsheet
Reading Column
This command will stop the reading column from being updated.
View
Acquisition
Configuration
Opens display window to allow selection of the number/speed of the scan and the triggering
method to start the acquisition.
Module Configuration
Opens the display window that shows the current inventory of expansion modules in the
system and allows the configuration of some expansion module parameters.
Scope
Opens the display window to allow real-time viewing of the acquired data.
Direct to Disk
Opens the display window to allow the writing of acquisition data to disk files.
PostView
Starts the PostView application.
System
Select Device
Opens the Select Device dialog box that shows you the current system devices to choose
from.
Simulated WaveBook
This command opens a WaveView session but does not attempt to communicate with
WaveBook hardware. Instead, the application simulates the interaction between the
software and hardware. If WaveView is presently attached to real WaveBook hardware,
this command will close that session.
WBK16 Sensor
Calibration
(WBK16 Only)
This command runs the sensor calibration program. Selecting this option will temporarily
disable WaveView and open a sensor calibration spreadsheet so that each channel on a
WBK16 can be calibrated to the specifications of the sensor in use. See Chapter 3:
WaveBook Expansion Options on using a WBK16 for more information on the sensor
calibration program.
Note: This selection is available if WaveView detects a WBK16 module.
WBK16 Advanced
Features
(WBK16 Only)
This command brings up a dialog box to select new cutoff frequencies for the LPF on a
WBK16. The WBK16 has a Low Pass Filter with two selectable cutoff frequencies.
Although the frequencies are factory configured at 10 Hz and 1 kHz, changing the resistor
packs inside the WBK16 can modify them. After the cutoff frequencies are altered, the
values that WaveView displays can then be modified to match the LPF frequencies using
this command.
Note: This selection is available if WaveView detects a WBK16 module.
Options
This command opens the System Options window with its three tabs: Performance, Data
Files, and Memory Module, as shown and described on the following page.
