Cleaning the quartz block
The quartz block should always be cleaned before the beam delivery optical cable is installed.
The inspection and cleaning of the surface should be performed by a skilled operator.
Cleaning supply requirements:
Canned, compressed air .................................................. Designed for cleaning optics or electronics
Isopropyl alcohol, reagent grade .................................... 99% pure
Methanol .............................................................................. 99.8% pure
Denatured ethyl alcohol .................................................... 99% pure
Acetone ................................................................................ 99% pure
1. Remove the protective cap.
2. Carefully remove the protection tube.
3. Use soft lens cleaning paper and isopropal alcohol for
best results. Lens tissue is avaiable from Hypertherm (127306).
4. Put the lens paper on top of the quartz block.
