Checking the availability of a host in the network (Ping)
The on-screen display of a user module can be used to test if a particular host (e. g.,
a computer or a network device) is available in the network.
How to check the availability of a host in the network:
1. Press
Ctrl+Num
(default) to open the on-screen display.
2. Press
F11
to open the Configuration menu.
3. Select
Network
and press
Enter
.
4. Select
Ping Host
and press
Enter
.
5. Select
Host
to enter the IP address or the host name and press
Enter
.
6. The test results are displayed in the following table:
7. Press
Esc
to leave the menu.
Resetting the default settings
This setting resets the default settings of the matrix switch. All settings that have
been changed by the user are reset.
How to reset the default settings of the matrix switch:
1. Press
Ctrl+Num
(default) to open the on-screen display.
2. Press
F11
to open the Configuration menu.
3. Select
System
and press
Enter
.
4. Select
Set system defaults
and press
Enter
.
5. Select
Delete dynamic ports
and press
F8
to enable/disable the option to delete the
Dynamic Port configuration.
6. Select
Delete network config
and press
F8
to enable/disable the option to delete the
network interface configuration.
7. Press
Enter
to reset the default settings.
Transmitted:
number of transmitted data packets
Received:
number of received data packets
Lost:
number of lost data packets
Min. RTT:
minimum round-trip-time
Avg. RTT:
average round-trip-time
Max. RTT:
maximum round-trip-time
NOTE:
A message informs the user if the host name cannot be resolved into an
IP address.
