Use the W X arrow keys to select Compression or Decompression, and then use the ST arrow
keys to set either feature as Enabled or Disabled. Press ENTER when done. Note the following:
• Compression enables or disables the Tx compression path (LAN to Satellite). When
Enabled, ALL traffic on all active ports and all active PIIC interfaces will be routed
through the compression card and will be compressed.
Tx Compression (LAN to Satellite) requires activation of a software license or FAST
Access Code. Tx compression rate licenses are sold by the symbol rate, so maximum
data rates will depend on modulation and coding schemes used.
When Compression is Enabled, the Tx side of the modem will be symbol rate‐limited by
the lesser of the Tx symbol rate purchased or the Tx compression symbol rate
purchased. All other licenses (e.g., CnC data rate) will still apply.
• Decompression enables or disables the Rx decompression path (Satellite to LAN). The
decompression setting must match the far side CDM‐750 Tx compression setting. A
mismatch will cause all data to be dropped.
Rx decompression does not require a software license or FAST Access Code; Rx
decompression will work at all data rates regardless of the Tx compression license
purchased.
