9.3 Setting Fans
to Test and
Balance Airflow
When setting the CFM for the supply and exhaust fan with ECM control, use the unit
interface TAB (Test and Balance Airflow) Menu. (See TAB Menu information, page 45,
and Paragraph 9.3.1.) Using the TAB Menu will allow the user to set the supply and
exhaust fan values as well as create and store a backup copy of the values.
See Para-
graph 9.3.2 for instructions on measuring pressure drops to determine supply
and exhaust airflow settings.
CAUTION: Use TAB Menu ONLY when setting, measuring, and
verifying CFM.
Steps for Setting Fan Speeds Using the TAB Menu
When setting the ECM fans to balance the airflow, follow this sequence.
1) Set the
supply air CFM by using the control panel to directly set the fan RPM.
2) After the supply air CFM is relatively close, adjust the
exhaust air fan CFM/RPM.

9.3.1 Setting Fan
Speeds Using the
TAB Menu
The system has the ability to save and restore local user setpoints, save fan speed
TAB setpoints, and also to return the unit to factory default setpoints.
Under the Service Menu, Setpt Defaults Menu, the first menu allows you to save all the
current setpoints and also to then restore from that point.
The next menu will allow you to restore the TAB fan speed setpoints.
NOTE: This will
only restore the last saved TAB setpoints; therefore, when the unit went through the
TAB process if the setpoints were not saved, the unit will return to the factory saved
setpoints.
The next menu will restore the unit to the as shipped factory setpoints. This applies to
all setpoints in the unit.
