TYPE 6 - I want to

control the unit using a

VOC Sensor plus Keyed

Hand/Off/Auto Switch.

Control Option CN7C, Indoor Air Quality Sensor (VOC 0-100%) with Hand/Off/Auto

Switch, offers the option of allowing the unit to be started/stopped automatically based

on VOC setpoint, manually started, and manually stopped.
Sequence: This control option provides a wall-mounted VOC sensor that is wired to

AI-6. The option also provides a three-position, keyed manual switch that is wired to

the digital input. The three-position switch provides “auto”, “manual on”, and “manual

off” modes. When the switch is in the auto mode, the sensor is powered, the digital

start/stop input is closed, and the system monitors the VOC levels. When the level is

above the setpoint, the unit is on. When the level is below the setpoint, the unit is off.

When the switch is in “manual on” mode, the digital input is closed, the sensors are

electrically disabled, and the unit is on. When the switch is in the “manual off” mode,

the digital input is open, the sensors are electrically disabled, and the unit is off.

NOTE:

If the sensor fails, the fail safe is for the unit to run.

TYPE 7 - I want to

control the unit using a

Digital Input (DI-3) but

allow the VOC or CO

2

sensor to override DI

when levels are above

setpoint.

Control Option Configuration Type 7: This configuration allows for the Digital Input

(DI-3) to be the primary occupancy control but then allow a VOC or CO

2

sensor to over-

ride the DI when levels are above the setpoint. This option shows under the required

setpoint setting to be configured as CN5 but can be used in conjunction with CN5,

CN7D, or any field-supplied contact closure.
Sequence: This figuration type allows the unit to be started/stopped based on the

contact closure that is wired to the digital input (DI-3). When the input is closed the unit

is “on”, and when the input is open the unit is “off”. This configuration also allows the

unit to monitor the CO

2

or VOC level and override the unit “on” when the level is above

the setpoint.

8.0 Controls

(cont’d)

Control Option Configuration Type 8: This configuration allows for an internal time

clock or building automation schedule to be the primary occupancy control but then

allows for the Digital Input (DI-3) to override the schedule. This configuration also allows

for a VOC or CO

2

sensor to override the schedule and the DI when levels are above the

setpoint. This option shows under the required setpoint setting to be configured as CN5

but can be used in conjunction with CN5, CN7D, or any field-supplied contact closure.
Sequence: This configuration type allows the unit to be started/stopped based on the

time of day schedule either done locally at the controller or through the Building Auto-

mation System. This configuration also allows the DI-3 to be configured to override the

unit schedule. When the DI override point is set to “Ovrd On”, the DI point will override

the unit to an “Occupied Command” whenever the DI is closed. This can be used to

provide an “override on” timer or switch, an occupancy sensor override, or any other

connection to allow the system to be turned on from the space when the unit is in the

unoccupied condition. When the DI Override point is set to “Ovrd Off”, the DI point will

override the unit to an “Unoccupied Command” whenever the DI is open. This can be

used to provide an “override off” switch to allow the system to be turned off from the

Unit Occupancy Control Options by Controller Setting TYPE (cont’d)
