Figure 68 - Tacho output
•
Tacho Duty - Duty cycle used to drive the tachometer.
•
Tacho Pulses Per Rev - The number of pulses per engine revolution that the tachometer expects.
On a 4-stroke piston engine, this is typically the number of cylinders divided by two.
PWM output #1 is suggested to be used as the tacho output as PWM 1 is the only output that has a
programmable signal pullup required for some factory tachometers. The PWM 1 “pullup” controls the
voltage level of the ouput signal, ie enabling the 12v pullup outputs a 0-12V square wave, the 8V pullup
outputs a 0-8V square wave etc.

Test
The test output is used to fault find wiring to test if an output is properly connected. The test output allows
the user to control the output in real time from the front end at the touch of a keystroke.
Thermo Fan
The thermo fan output function is used to run thermal cooling fans that circulate air through your radiator
when coolant temperatures exceed the programmed value. You can setup more than one thermofan on
separate outputs.
After selecting the Thermofan option, the temperatures must be programmed to select when the fan turns
on and off. When wiring up a thermofan please use a relay to switch the fan power as the ECU itself if not
capable of running the fan. The ECU output is only rated to switch a relay on and not the high current
required by the fan itself.
