The email gateway will pick up the fax, then send it as an email to the
configured mail server. The mail server will then relay the fax to the user’s email
inbox.
2.5.3.2 Microsoft Fax
When a user does not have a Routing Address, the fax will be delivered to that
user, but remain in the fax server’s Inbox until Microsoft Fax connects to the fax
server and retrieves the faxes. Note that old unclaimed faxes will not be aged
out, they will remain on the server until claimed.
