The SMTP Gateway Files will be installed.
After the SMTP Gateway files are installed, the SMTP Gateway Setup program
will run. This allows you to configure the gateway with mail server and mailbox
information. See below for details on configuring the gateway.
2.9.2.3.3 Configure Mail Server
Configuration of the fax server is now complete, but still the mail server doesn’t
know how to route mail to the fax server. How exactly to do configure the mail
server to route to the fax server varies from one mail server to another. See
2.9.2.5 Generic SMTP Routing , 2.9.2.6 Exchange 2003 Routing , or 2.9.2.7
Exchange 2007 Routing , depending on your mail server.
2.9.2.3.4 Verify Functionality
Be sure to complete configuration of your mail server so that it is able to route
mail to the fax server before attempting to test the functionality.
By sending a manually constructed email to the fax server, you can verify that
email is successfully making it through your mail server to NET SatisFAXtion.
Simply compose an email and address it similar to [email protected] .
Replace the “5550123” with a real fax number, and “ fax.company.com ” with the
SMTP domain (connector address space) of the fax server you assigned in the
previous steps.
You should receive an email back from the fax server stating that the fax was
sent successfully.
