Install Secondary Seed Hoses
Apply Drop Numbers
Refer to Figure 146
332. Select three sheets
848-391C DECAL NUMBERS 1 - 80
If fewer than 3 sheets are found, one or more sheets
may have been factory-applied.
Note: When applying decals, clean and dry the surface.
Surfaces may have dust, oils and/or residual re-
lease agents, which could impair long term adhe-
sion of the decals.
Number Tower Caps
Start with Tower A, then complete towers B-D, and if dou-
ble-shoot; E-H.
Refer to Figure 147
If the tower caps were factory-labelled, skip step 333 (but
complete step 334).
Note: Port “P01” is the tower exit port above the tower
mount (above the nuts securing the tower’s
U-bolts). The remaining ports are numbered in
clockwise order (looking down on the cap).
333. Consult the Appendix (page 97 through page 102)
for the port mapping for the implement row spacing,
distribution option (single or double-shoot) and
tower set (seed or fertilizer).
Starting at Port P01, determine the “Drop No.”.
Apply the decal for that drop number on the cap,
above the port. Where that location will be obscured
by a tower above it, move the decal toward cap
center a short distance, as at
.
Loosen Tower Caps
334. Loosen all four perimeter bolts
on the cap, by a
few turns. Do not loosen the center bolt.
This loosening is to provide clearance to insert the
end of the secondary hose. Do not loosen them so
much that the hose can pass the constriction at the
inside end of the port (see
page 83), and enter the free space in the turret (this
would imbalance seed flow).
Move to the next tower. Label and loosen all towers
in turn.
