Install Towers
The drill has one of two basic tower configurations:
4 towers: single-hopper or single-shoot
8 towers (4 pairs): dual-hopper double-shoot
Each tower turret has a port count of:
8 (32 row) or
10 (40 row)
Refer to Figure 127 (which depicts 10-port towers - 8-port
towers have a similar appearance)
There are four types of towers:
168-433K NTA607HD 10 OUTLET TOWER ASY
168-435K NTA607HD 8 OUTLET TOWER ASY
168-434K 10 OUTLET DOUBLE SHOOT TOWER
168-436K 8 OUTLET DOUBLE SHOOT TOWER
Base towers (seed or single-shoot) are installed on
implement mounts. Add-on “double-shoot” towers mount
on base towers. All towers on a single implement must
have the correct number of ports.
Center section tower mount brackets are pre-installed.
Install Wing Tower Mounts
Refer to Figure 128
286. Select two:
160-339H TOWER MOUNT WELDMENT
and four:
806-044C U-BOLT 5/8-11 X 5 1/32 X 6 GR5
and eight sets:
804-022C WASHER LOCK SPRING 5/8 PLT
803-021C NUT HEX 5/8-11 PLT
With the gussets up and the tube on the bottom,
install each mount
on the rear tube of each
wing, with the U-bolts straddling the cylinder mount
tube
.
