Install Hose Caddy
Refer to Figure 26
49. Select one each:
266-148D HOSE RETAINER
802-079C HHCS 3/8-16X1 1/4 GR5
804-011C WASHER FLAT 3/8 USS PLT
803-078C NUT LOCK 3/8-16 NYLON INSERT
With keyholes down and retainer breaks to rear,
mount retainer at top center hole of hitch weldment.
Add Gladhand Holders (Option)
If the drill does not have air brakes, or the gladhand
holders
are already installed, skip step 50.
50. Select two:
891-172C HOLDER GLADHAND STORAGE
and four sets:
802-007C HHCS 5/16-18X3/4 GR5
804-009C WASHER LOCK SPRING 5/16 PLT
803-006C NUT HEX 1/4-20 PLT
With bolt hole breaks down and to rear, mount glad-
hand holders on top break of hose retainer
.
Install Hitch and Safety Chain
If the customer’s tractor hitch height is known, see the
166-283M Operator manual for determining the orienta-
tion and hole alignment of the hitch casting
. If posi-
tion is not known, use factory default shown.
Hoses and harnesses may be routed above or below
hitch casting.
51. Select one each:
170-201D CASTING LARGE HITCH STRAP
890-398C SAFETY CHAIN 40000 LB
802-543C HHCS 1 1/4-7X10 GR5 SPTHD
802-544C HHCS 1 1/4-7X9 GR5 SPTHD
194-070D SAFETY CHAIN WASHER
and two sets:
803-034C NUT HEX 1 1/4-7 PLT
804-030C WASHER LOCK 1 1/4 SPRING PLT
Insert longer 1
1 ⁄

in bolt through washer ,
solid loop of chain , and then lower holes of
hitch weldment and casting. Insert shorter bolt
through top hole of weldment and casting. Secure
with washers
and nuts to Grade 5 torque.
Install Hose Loop

807-073C SPRING HOSE LOOP HEAVY
802-099C HHCS 1/2-13X3 1/4 GR5
804-113C WASHER FLAT 1/2 USS HARD PLT
804-015C WASHER LOCK SPRING 1/2 PLT
803-020C NUT HEX 1/2-13 PLT
Mount loop at center vertical hole of casting .

Hitch Failure Hazard:
Final hitch casting position must have two bolts through both
hitch weldment and hitch casting. The safety chain must be
attached to the longer bolt. A hitch casting with only one bolt,
or with one hole above or below weldment, can pivot upward
suddenly, or fail entirely. The safety chain may fail to protect
an improperly installed hitch.
