Install Gauge Wheels
Install Gauge Wheel Assemblies
Refer to Figure 73
168. Select both gauge wheel assemblies
. Both are
identical and may be installed on either wing. The
cylinder lug
must be up on both wings.
Select two sets:
160-322H PIN WLDMNT 1.25 X 16.09 NR
805-255C PIN ROLL 3/8 X 2 1/2 PLT
169. Bring each gauge wheel cross tube into alignment
with the holes in the wing end plates. Insert a
pin
from the outside. Fully seat the break in the
pivot pin cap in the square hole of the outside plate.
Secure with roll pin

Null4:
Install Gauge Wheel Cylinders
Note: Cylinders may contain oil. To ease rod adjustment,
remove caps on elbow fittings at both cylinder
ports, and interconnect any available length of hy-
draulic hose with

FJIC connectors at both ends.
At full retraction, overall cylinder length may still be
too long to allow connection of rod end. Have a lifter
or jack available to raise the wing end as needed.

170. Check the eyebolt
. The jam nut must be tight and
the thread reveal must be at factory specifications
(documented under “Wing Leveling (Eyebolts)” in
the 166-283M Operator manual.
171. Select two:
810-171C CYL REP 3.25X10X1.25 ROD (TIE)
The cylinder assemblies include the clevis pins and
cotter pins needed for installation.
The cylinders also have
9 ⁄

MJIC elbows installed.
Install the cylinders with the elbows to the front.
172. Attach the base end of each cylinder to the
eyebolt on the gauge wheel lug. Secure with pins
provided.
173. Retract cylinder rod, and elevate wing end as
needed, to obtain alignment between rod end clevis
and the lug
in the gauge wheel assembly. Secure
with pins provided. Remove any hoses temporarily
connected. Re-cap elbows at cylinder ports.
