The descriptions and symbols used in this manual for documents and paper
are explained below.
“Width” and “Length”
Whenever paper dimensions
are mentioned in this manual,
the first value always refers to
the width of the paper (shown
as “Y” in the illustration), and
the second value refers to the
length (shown as “X”).
w and v
If the length (X) is longer than
the width (Y), the paper orien-
tation is indicated by w.
If the length (X) is shorter than
the width (Y), the paper orien-
tation is indicated by v.
