EYPAD
The keypad comprises six individual
key switches, mounted directly behind
a fully sealed membrane overlay.
They have a positive ‘click’ action,
which provides the user with tactile
feedback. These six switches are
identified as UP ARROW, DOWN
ARROW, RIGHT ARROW, LEFT
ARROW, ENTER and CLEAR.

Key
Function
ENTER
This key is used to select a displayed function or to execute a
modem configuration change.
CLEAR
This key is used to back out of a selection or to cancel a
configuration change, which has not been executed using
[ENTER]. Pressing [CLEAR] generally returns the display to the
previous selection.
Left and Right
Diamond Keys
These keys are used to move to the next selection or to move the
cursor functions.
Top and Bottom
Diamond Keys
These keys are used primarily to change configuration data
(numbers). At times, they are also used to move from one section
to another.

Throughout this chapter, [
←] and [→] are used to indicate left and
right diamond keys.

bottom diamond keys.
The modem responds by beeping whenever a key is pressed:

A single beep indicates a valid entry and the appropriate action was taken.
!
A double beep indicates an invalid entry or a parameter is not available for
operation.
