3 Controls and Displays
* These butttons are used to navigate on-screen menus.
1 MENU -displaysDVD disc menu.
2 6 Power - switches player on or into standby.
3 AUDIO - switches audio language/channels (p.72).
4 DISPLAY - shows on-screen disc information (p.88).
5 SETUP - enters Setup menu (p.40, 90).
6 MULTI DIAL - controls picture scanning speed/frame
advance (p.68).
7 LIGHTING - press to illuminate buttons 8,9,10,11,
23,25,26.
8 V.ADJ (VIDEO ADJUST) - press to adjust picture
quality settings such as sharpness, colour balance, etc.
(p.lOO).
9 F.MEM (FUNCTION MEMORY) - displays the
function memory menu (p. 138).
10 ► (PLAY) - starts/resumes playback (p.46-56).
11 ■ (STOP) - stops playback/scanning, etc. (p.46-56)
12 (PREVIOUS/NEXT) - skips to the
previous/next title/group/chapter/track (p.46-56). Also
used to navigate Video CD menus (p.56).
13 (RETURN) - returns to the previously displayed menu
screen. Also displays Video CD menu.
14 (STEP/SLOW) - controls slow-motion/frame
advance (p.50, 60).
15 Number buttons - use to select titles/groups/tracks/
chapters/time when searching, programming, etc.
16 RANDOM - sets the random playback mode (p.82) .
17 LAST MEMORY - memorizes the current location in the
DVD-video or Video CD discs loaded (p.84); starts playback
from a point previously memorized (p.84).
18 ^ (OPEN/CLOSE) - opens/closes the disc tray.
19 SUBTITLE - switches the subtitle display on multi-lingual
DVD discs (p.70).
20 ANGLE - switches camera angle on DVDs that have multi­
angle scenes (p.70).
21 TOP MENU - displays the top menu of a DVD disc
(p.52).
22 Joystick / ENTER button - move the joystick up/
down/left/right to navigate on-screen menus and displays;
press to select menu items from the Setup menu and DVD
disc menus.
23 FL (DIMMER)- changes the brightness of the front panel
fluorescent display.
24 Jog indicator - lights when multi dial is in jog mode
(p.68).
25 JOG (JOG MODE) - puts multi dial into jog mode
(p.68).
26 I I (PAUSE) - pauses/restarts playback.
27 ◄◄ ►► (REV/FWD) - press and hold for fast reverse/
forward scanning (p.46-56).
28 SEARCH MODE - changes the disc search mode
(p.64).
29 C (CLEAR) - clears a playlist entry; cancels repeat and
random play modes (p.78-86).
30 PROGRAM - enters program list programming mode
(p.74).
31 REPEAT — A-B - sets the repeat mode and loop points
(p.80).
32 CONDITION MEMORY - memorizes the current
player settings for the DVD disc loaded (p.86).
