1.3 The TR500 Terminal
The TR500 Terminal provides a full
user interface to all System 500 GPS
Receivers.
It can be used to set parameters in
the receiver and to steer the GPS
measurement operation.
The TR500 can be used to set and
store parameters in one GPS receiver
and then removed and used to set
parameters in another System 500
receiver. The receiver can then be
used in the field without the TR500
attached. Note that whilst this is
possible when measuring in any
mode, for a Reference or Rover, it is
recommended that the Receiver only
be used without a TR500 at Refer-
ence stations or with Static/Rapid
Static Rovers.
The TR500 is connected either
directly to the receiver or via a cable.
Data input is via a fully alphanumeric
QWERTY keyboard and an LCD
display of 32 x 12 characters which
may be illuminated.
