Installing the pH Probe in the pH Module
Note:
This procedure assumes that the pH module is already installed in your
system and the tubing is already connected to the appropriate positions.
The pH probe is packaged in storage solution to protect it during shipping.
To install the pH probe
1.
Remove the cap from the pH valve flow cell.
2.
Add a small amount of water (2 ml) to the pH valve flow cell.
3.
Remove the pH probe from the storage solution.
4.
Inspect the probe to determine if the air bubble in the stem has moved into the
bulb area.
Tip:
If bubbles are visible in the bulb area, hold the electrode by the top
cap and shake downward to move the bubbles into the stem.
5.
Carefully remove the plastic cap from the pH probe.
6.
Inspect the pH probe and ensure that the O-ring is in place on the body.
7.
Insert the pH probe into the top of the pH flow cell.
8.
Slide the collar over the pH probe onto the pH valve flow cell and carefully
hand-tighten the collar until it is snug.
Caution:
Do not overtighten the collar. Overtightening will break the glass
pH probe.
9.
Connect the pH probe cable to the DNS connector on the pH valve module.
Tip:
If a small amount of liquid drips from the flow cell during installation,
wipe it off with a paper towel.
