Attaching the Touch Screen
The installation procedure for the touch screen varies depending on the location of
the NGC instrument (lab bench or standard cold cabinet). This section explains how
to attach the touch screen to the instrument in either location.
The communication cable for the touch screen is approximately 5' (1.52 m) in
length. A 10' or 15' (3.0 or 4.57 m) cable is also available.
Important:
The communication cable for the touch screen does not have a
standard DVI connector, even though its connector resembles one. Do not
attempt to connect the touch screen to the NGC system with any cable other
than the one supplied with the system to avoid serious damage to the
instrument.

Note:
This procedure assumes you will attach the touch screen on the left side
of the NGC instrument. If you plan to attach the touch screen on the right side
of the instrument, you must reposition the touch screen’s pivot arm assembly.
See
Repositioning the Touch Screen Pivot Arm Assembly on page
information.
To attach the touch screen when the NGC system is on a lab bench
1.
Determine the side of the NGC instrument (right or left) on which to attach the
touch screen.
2.
Remove the side mount cover from the side of the instrument.
