A About configurations for which the same command device
is shared from multiple hosts
This appendix describes configurations for which the same command device is shared from multiple
hosts (OSs).
Configurations for which the same command device is shared from multiple
hosts
You must set the host ID when the Remote DKC Control function is used, and you operate Business
Continuity Manager from more than one host (OS) in the same site, and one command device in
one storage system is shared. If only one host (OS) exists in the same site or if several hosts do not
share the same command device, you do not need to set the host ID.
For a host ID, a unique value is specified for each operating system by using a 2-digit hexadecimal
number in the range from 00 to 1F. In an LPAR environment, a host ID is specified for each LPAR.
For details on how to specify a host ID, see the HP XP7 for Business Continuity Manager Software
Installation Guide.
