Defining a new 4x4x4 cascade configuration – HP XP Racks User Manual

1.
Set up the storage system.
Set the items that need to be set by using Remote Web Console from among the items listed
in
.
2.
Set up a Business Continuity Manager environment.
Do the following:
•
Perform a Local Scan on the storage system at each site, and transfer the disk configuration
definition file containing the scan results of each site to all other sites.
•
At each site, define a path set and establish a logical path.
•
At each site, define a route list and register a command device.
3.
Create copy groups.
At the primary site, define copy groups, create copy pairs, and register the copy pair in the
EXCTG of the storage system.
The copy group is registered in the EXCTG of the storage system when the YKMAKE command is
executed. If a copy pair has already been created, executing the YKMAKE SELECT(COND)
command simply registers the copy group in the EXCTG.
This subsection describes the procedures for defining a 4x4x4 Cascade configuration for each of
the following cases:
1.
Defining a new 4x4x4 Cascade configuration
2.
Expanding to a 4x4x4 Cascade configuration by adding Continuous Access Journal Z copy
groups to Continuous Access Synchronous Z copy groups
3.
Expanding to a 4x4x4 Cascade configuration by adding a series of storage systems to a 3DC
Cascade (Cnt Ac-S Z x Cnt Ac-J Z) configuration
