Enabling/Disabling HR Alarms and Setting Alarm Limits

When enabled, the X Series unit sounds alarms whenever the patient’s heart rate is above or
below the specified heart rate alarm limits.

To enable (or disable) HR alarms and set Upper and Lower alarm limits, you can either do so

through the Alarms quick access key (

) or the HR/PR Parameter Control Panel.

To configure HR alarms through the Alarms quick access key:

Use the navigation buttons to highlight and select HR/PR Alarm.

On the HR/PR

Alarm Settings menu, use the navigation keys to select the fields that you want

to change:

Upper Limit Enable

Lower Limit Enable

Upper Limit

Lower Limit

When you are finished changing values on the alarm menu, navigate to the Backarrow key to
confirm your choices and exit the menu.

Heart Rate (HR/PR) Alarm Limits

Initially, the HR/PR Alarm Settings menu specifies that alarms are enabled (

ON

)

or disabled

(

OFF

),

and displays the default Upper and Lower heart rate alarm limits. The upper and lower

limits can be

ON

or

OFF

(default is

OFF

). The following table lists the default HR alarm limits

for adult, pediatric, and neonate patients, and gives the range in which you can set these limits:
