Defining the machining plane with Euler angles:
EULER PLANE
Function
Euler angles define a machining plane through up to three rotations
about the respectively tilted coordinate system
. The Swiss
mathematician Leonhard Euler defined these angles. When applied to
the machine coordinate system, they have the following meanings:
Precession angle
EULPR Rotation of the coordinate system around the Z
axis
Nutation angle
EULNU Rotation of the coordinate system around the X
axis already shifted by the precession angle
Rotation angle
EULROT Rotation of the tilted machining plane around the
tilted Z axis
