Random mode—Any packet might be selected out of a number of sequential packets in each
sampling.
Sampling basically reflects the network traffic information by collecting statistics on fewer packets. The
reduced statistics to be transferred also bring down the impact on the device performance.
If the host device performs the sampling function, you must disable sampling on the SecBlade NetStream
card and configure NetStream to reference a sampler with the same sampling mode and rate as that on
the host device. In this case, the SecBlade NetStream card does not sample traffic, and only obtains the
sampling mode and sampling rate and then sends it with the sampled traffic to the NSC.
