Creating and Applying a
Bandwidth Management Policy

Required

Create a bandwidth management policy, configure rules for the bandwidth
management policy, and apply the policy to a segment.

By default, a bandwidth management policy named Service Control
Policy
exists. You can modify and apply the policy, but cannot delete the
policy.

Activating the Configuration

Required

Activate the protocol, service, policy, rule, and policy application
configurations to make the configurations take effect.

There are two categories of configurations in the system: Class A and
Class B. Class A configurations take effect immediately, while Class B
configurations must be activated to take effect.

z

The Activate button is present on all pages with Class B
configurations. Clicking the button on any page will activate all Class B
configurations. You are recommended to complete all Class B
configurations before clicking the Activate button.

Configuring Protocols

In the navigation tree, protocols marked with red exclamation points are system-defined protocols.

Support for system-defined protocols depends on your device model.

Select Bandwidth Management > Protocol Management from the navigation tree to enter the page

displaying all protocol information, as shown in

Figure 18-1
