Saving diagnostic logs to a diagnostic log file
Perform this task to enable saving diagnostic logs to a diagnostic log file at a specific interval. You can
also manually save diagnostic logs to a diagnostic log file.
The system saves diagnostic logs in the diagnostic log buffer, and outputs the buffered logs to a
diagnostic log file at a specified interval. The system performs the operations when the device is not busy,
for example, in the morning. You can also manually save the diagnostic logs. The system clears the
diagnostic log file buffer each time it outputs logs from the buffer to the diagnostic log file.
The router supports multiple diagnostic log files. Each diagnostic log file has a specific capacity. The
diagnostic log files are named as diagfile1.log, diagfile2.log, and so on. When the capacity of
diagfile1.log is reached, the system compresses diagfile1.log as diagfile1.log.gz and creates a new
diagnostic log file named diagfile2.log. You can download the compressed diagnostic log files. When
the maximum capacity of the last diagnostic log file is reached, or the storage device runs out of space,
the system deletes the earliest diagnostic log file and creates a new one.
