Bind the current ONU port to an
ONU
bind onuid onuid
Required
An ONU port can only be bound with one ONU MAC address. Conversely, an ONU MAC address
can only be bound to one ONU port under one OLT port.
In fiber backup, an ONU can be bound with two ONU ports under two OLT ports acting as
backups for each other.
Configuring Batch ONU Binding and Automatic ONU Binding
In an actual EPON network environment, multiple ONUs may be attached to an OLT. Manually binding
these ONUs to the OLT one by one will bring about tedious binding work and increase the cost and
difficulty of network maintenance. To solve this problem, you can configure batch ONU binding or
automatic ONU binding.
Configuring batch ONU binding
With batch ONU binding configured, the device automatically binds the current quiet ONU MAC
addresses to the ONU ports and generate the binding configuration on the ONU ports, however, the
ONUs joining subsequently will not be bound.
This binding method is applicable to a initially set up network environment where all ONUs are valid.
This method can save a great deal of binding operations. You must use the bind onuid command to
bind the subsequently joining ONUs, thus avoiding automatic registration of invalid ONUs.
