Ethernet Port Configuration
The S7500E Series Ethernet Switches are distributed switches that support Intelligent Resilient
Framework (IRF). Two S7500E series switches can form a distributed IRF virtual device. For more
information about IRF, see IRF Configuration in the IRF Configuration Guide.
This chapter includes these sections:
Ethernet Port Numbering Conventions
Management Ethernet Interface Configuration
Configuring Basic Settings of an Ethernet Port
Setting Speed Options for Auto Negotiation on an Ethernet Port
Configuring Flow Control on an Ethernet Port
Configuring Link Change Suppression on a Port
Performing Loopback Testing on an Ethernet Port
Configuring Traffic Storm Protection
Setting the Statistics Polling Interval
Enabling Forwarding of Jumbo Frames
Enabling Loopback Detection on an Ethernet Port
Configuring the MDI Mode for an Ethernet Port
Testing the Cable on an Ethernet Port
Configuring the Connection Mode of an Ethernet Port
Displaying and Maintaining an Ethernet Port
Ethernet Port Numbering Conventions
For an S7500E series Ethernet switch in an IRF, its 100-Mbps, GE and 10GE ports are numbered in
the format of interface type A/B/C/D; for an S7500E series Ethernet switch not in any IRF, its 100-Mbps,
GE and 10GE ports are numbered in the format of interface type B/C/D.
A: Number of the switch in an IRF;
B: Slot number of the card in the switch;
C: Sub-slot number on a card;
D: Number of a port on a card.
