If the configuration polling cycle does not finish, you must make sure to back up the backup device
configuration.

1. Go to the device driver.
2. In the dropdown, select the FTP.
3. On the FTP Download Status line, click Download.

NetVue backs up the configuration of the backup device, so that the primary device receives the correct
configuration when it goes online again.

12.4.1.2

CTOG/CDM-800 Automatic Redundancy Operation

In the Automatic switching mode, the NetVue server automatically monitors and backs up the primary
CTOG/CDM-800 chain.

To use Automatic redundancy operation, make sure that Automatic switching is the selected mode.

12.4.1.3

CTOG/CDM-800 Manual Redundancy Operation

In Manual switching mode, you must select and switch the primary CTOG.

To use Manual redundancy operation, make sure that Manual switching is the selected mode.

12.4.1.4

Manually switch a primary CTOG to backup status

CAUTION

If the CTOG backup is NOT available, then the backup device cannot go online, and the switching
operation fails.

1. Select the primary CTOG and then click Switch to backup.
2. When prompted, click Yes to take the primary CTOG offline and set the backup online.

3. The backup goes online in less than ten seconds.
