10.2.2.3.1 Restore the NetVue Server configuration manually

To restore a NetVue Server configuration manually, copy the C:/Skyline DataMiner/ directory from one
server to another.

1. Copy all of the C:/Skyline DataMiner/ directories from the original server to the destination server.
2. Make sure that all existing files and directories are overwritten.
3. Go to the C:/Skyline DataMiner/ directory and delete the NetVue Cluster.xml file.

10.2.2.3.1.1 Additional Considerations

A backup configuration may not include certain items, such as protocols. Go to System Display | Backup
to identify these items.

There are two methods for adding these items to a restored NetVue Server.

a) Manually copy them from another NetVue Server. This is the faster method.
b) Alternatively, synchronize them automatically when you add the NetVue Server to the NetVue

Cluster.

10.2.2.3.2 Restore the NetVue Server configuration using StandAloneUpgrade.exe

Use the StandAloneUpgrade.exe utility for backup and restore procedures on servers running Microsoft
Windows Server 2012.

Do these steps to restore a configuration with StandAloneUpgrade.exe:

1. Go to the C:/Skyline DataMiner/Tools/ directory and double-click StandAloneUpgrade.exe.
2. Click File | Open.
3. Set Files of type to Zip Files (*.zip).
4. Select the backup file DataMinerBackup.zip and click Open.
5. Wait until the backup file has been loaded.
6. Click Upgrade | Start...
7. In the Confirm dialog box, click Yes.
8. Wait until you see a Finished message.
9. Go to the C:/Skyline DataMiner/ directory and delete the NetVue Cluster.xml file.
