10.5.4.2 Domain groups
The domain administrator manages domain groups in the Windows domain.
10.5.4.3 Group-level user rights
Groups rights are defined according to three concepts:
• Permissions
• Views
• Access Levels
Users who are members of groups inherit the rights given to their groups.
NOTES:
• Additionally, a member of a group can have a personal user access level. That
personal user access level overrides the group’s access level.
• The administrator can configure both user rights and user settings on the
group level.
10.5.5 Users
NetVue has three types of users:
1. Local users
2. Manually added domain users
3. Automatically added domain users
10.5.5.1 Local users
Local users are known only to the local operating system of the NetVue Servers. Local users are managed
entirely by NetVue.
NOTE : This type of user is used mainly when the NetVue Servers have not been
added to a domain.
10.5.5.2 Manually added domain users
Manually added domain users have user names and passwords managed by the domain. All other properties for
manually added domain users are managed by NetVue.
