10.3 Clustering

10.3.1

Configuration: Adding the NetVue Agent to the NetVue Cluster

1. Open System Display, and go to Admin ‣ NetVue Servers.
2. On the left-hand side of the DataMiner Configuration section, select the new DMA.
3. Below the Clusters list, click Add Cluster.
4. Enter the name of the NetVue Cluster, and click OK.
5. If the new NetVue Server has an IP address that is unknown to the Cluster, click Add New IP to specify

the IP address of the NetVue Server.

At the end of this procedure, NetVue Server will start synchronizing with the other Servers in the Cluster.
This process may take time. See the progress using the Information Events tab of the Alarm Console.

Adding NetVue to a Cluster using NAT

10.3.2.1

Adding a NetVue Server using NAT

Typically, when you add a NetVue Server to a Cluster, the server's primary IP address is used. However,
when Network Address Translation (NAT) is in use, you must configure the IP address translation.

1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Go to the System Display of one of the NetVue Servers in the NetVue Cluster.
3. Choose Admin > NetVue Servers.
4. At the top of the window, click Actions, and then select Edit Connection Strings.
5. In the Connection String Configuration dialog box, right-click in the list, and select Add New Destination.
6. In the Edit Connection String dialog box, configure the NAT settings. See

7. Click OK to save the configuration.
8. Repeat steps 5 through 7 until all connections have been added.
9. When finished, click Done to exit the Connection String Configuration dialog box.
