15.41 timers spf
To turn on Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) shortest path first (SPF) throttling, use the timers spf
command in router configuration mode. To turn off SPF throttling, use the no form of this command.
Command Syntax
timers spf spf-start spf-hold
no timers spf
spf-start Indicates the initial SPF schedule delay in seconds. Value range is 0 to
2147483647 seconds.
spf-hold Indicates the minimum hold time between two consecutive SPF calculations.
Value range is 0 to 2147483647 seconds.
Default
SPF timer is not set.

The following example shows a router configured with the start, and hold values for the timers spf
command set at 5, and 10 seconds, respectively.
