correspond with the draft of your boat. Using the Vertical slider you can then read
the times at which the graph dips below the horizontal line i.e. the times when
you will be in danger of grounding.
NOTE Tide graph is an approximation of the tide and they should be used in
conjunction with traditional tide tables and navigational methods. The Tide
height value represents the variation relative to the "Mean Lower Water"
value.
2.8 FIND FUNCTION
The Find function allows searching for the nearest Port, Port Services, Tide Sta-
tions, Wrecks, Obstructions, Points Of Interest and Lakes loaded on the DATA
MEDIA. When the Find function is activated a list of available objects to search is
shown. Also the Find function allows to center the screen over a selected User
Point, on the Cursor position or at desired Coordinates.
NOTE Activating the Find function a Warning message is shown if there is no DATA
MEDIA inserted.
Finding Nearest Port Services
To show the nearest port services of a particular type (i.e. the nearest Hospital,
sailmaker, bank, etc.).
[ENTER] + "Find" + [ENTER] + "Port Services" + [ENTER]
The icons list of the available services is shown. Use the cursor key to select any
facility and press [ENTER] or [Find] 1 . By selecting one of the facilities the list of
the nearest ports (up to 10) in which this port facility is present, will be shown.

Finding Nearest Port By Name
To select the Port By Name function:
[ENTER] + "Find" + [ENTER] + "Port by Name" + [ENTER]
Shows the list of all ports stored on the DATA MEDIA in alphabetical order and
allows to search port by name to locate the port on the map.
Finding Nearest Port By Distance
To select the Port By Distance function:
[ENTER] + "Find" + [ENTER] + "Port by Distance" + [ENTER]
Shows the list of all ports stored on the DATA MEDIA in closest distance order and
allows to locate the port on the map.
Finding Nearest Tide Station
To show the nearest Tide Stations to the boat position (or to the cursor position if
the position fix is not received).
[ENTER] + "Find" + [ENTER] + "Tide Stations" + [ENTER]
After a few seconds a window appears. Choose the Tide Station you want and
press [ENTER] or [Find] 1 to display the Tide Graph page. Press [CLEAR] to
display the Tide Station chosen.

Finding Nearest Wrecks
To show the Nearest Wrecks loaded in the DATA MEDIA:
[ENTER] + "Find" + [ENTER] + "Wrecks" + [ENTER]
Choose the Wrecks you prefer and press [ENTER] or [Find] 1 to locate the se-
lected Wreck on the map.
