6.1 General instructions on diagnosis
Information on general diagnosis and fault treatment can be
found in the system manual for the SPC200 type
P.BE−SPC200−...
This chapter contains information on diagnosing the field bus
module as well as diagnosis and fault treatment via the field
bus.
Overview of the diagnostic possibilities
The SPC200 offers extensive and user−friendly options for
diagnosis and fault treatment. The following possibilities are
available:
ć Via the field bus the basic readiness of the system to
operate is shown with the output bit READY (Q10.0).
ć The LEDs on the SPC200 and on the connected field
devices show directly configuration faults, hardware
faults, string faults, bus faults, etc. (see 6.2 as well as the
system manual).
ć In online mode WinPISA shows the 8−figure fault
messages as well as a description of the fault in clear text
(see section 6.3).
ć The coded 8−figure fault messages of the SPC200 can be
requested as diagnostic information via the field bus
(seeĂsectionĂ6.4).
ć The protocol variant DeviceNet profile also has its own
fault code (see section 6.5).
