Product−specific terms and abbreviations
Abbreviation Meaning
DeviceNet IO Protocol variant of the field bus module. The scope of functions
corresponds approximately to that of an I/O module (compare 1.4).
DeviceNet profile Protocol variant of the field bus module. Offers a considerably extended
scope of functions (compare 1.4)
I Digital input of the SPC200
I/Os Digital inputs and outputs
Modules Function cards which can be plugged into the rack of the SPC200
Q Digital output of the SPC200
PLC/IPC Programmable logic controller/industrial PC
Record Select mode Operating mode of the SPC200 which supports close coupling with a
higher−order PLC/IPC (compare 1.4)
Start/Stop mode Operating mode of the SPC200 which supports both autonomous
operation and control by a higher−order PLC/IPC (compare 1.4)
Terminating resistor Resistor for minimizing signal reflections. Terminating resistors must be
installed or switched in at the end of bus segment cables.
