4.2 Configuring the network
4.2.1 Installing the EDS file
When you commission a new DeviceNet slave the first time,
you must inform your configuration program about certain
features of the slave. The features of the various slaves are
managed by the configuration program in a list or library e.g.
EDS library" (EDS for electronic data sheets).
Installing the EDS file
There is an EDS file and picture files on the CD ROM for
WinPISA for extending the EDS library. Instructions on the
directory structure of the CD ROM can be found in the file
INFO.TXT in the main directory of the CD ROM.
If required, you can find the current EDS files and picture files
also in Internet under: www.festo.com/fieldbus/
