NOTE: If the source server is an Insight Control server migration application station, the HP Insight Control
server migration Application Service and HP Insight Control server migration Web Service must be stopped
before agents are installed.
Linux source servers
The physical Linux source server requires the following components to be installed and running:
•
User account credentials with administrative rights
•
SELinux must be running in passive mode
•
A supported Linux operating system. For a list of operating systems, see the Insight Control Support
Matrix.
•
Available disk space of at least 10 MB on /boot and 150 MB under the directory where SMP Linux
server migration Source Agent has to be installed.
NOTE: In case of remote launch of Linux Source Agent from the CMS, the default location on the
source server for agent installation will be /tmp
•
The availability of ports 51125 and 51126
Physical destination servers
A supported ProLiant destination server must be used for P2P or V2P migrations. For a list of supported
ProLiant servers for P2P and V2P, see the
Insight Control Support Matrix at www.hp.com/go/insightcontrol/
docs . The destination server disks must be configured to support migration of source servers.
Virtual machine hosts
The destination virtual machine hosts require the following components to be installed:
•
User account credentials with administrative rights
•
Available memory of at least 600 MB
•
Available disk space of at least 750 MB
•
The latest updates installed
Installing Insight Control server migration on the application station
To install Insight Control server migration, you must have administrative rights.
Insight Control must be installed on the application station to perform an Insight Control server migration.
Use the following procedure to install Insight Control on an application station or on an Systems Insight
Manager server.
1. Insert the Insight Control server migration Boot CD in the CD drive of the selected application station.
The CD autorun utility displays the installation screen.
