Support for older versions of standalone P2P application
The installation of standalone P2P application (version 1.4 and earlier) on a system which already has Insight
Control is not supported.
If you need to downgrade to an older version of the P2P application, you must use the following installation
order:
1.
Uninstall the older version of P2P application.
2.
Install Insight Control.
Configuration
Ports required for Insight Control are not available
This issue occurs for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 systems if port numbers 51124, 51125, 51126, or
51127 have been locked by another application.
1.
At the command line prompt, enter the following command: netstat –n –o –a
2.
View the Local Addresses column to identify the ports currently in use.
3.
Note the process identifier numbers (PIDs) for ports 51124, 51125, 51126, and 51127.
4.
Open the Windows Task Manager, and then click the Processes tab.
5.
Click View
→Select Columns.
6.
Select PID (Process Identifier), and then click OK.
7.
Locate the PIDs in the PID column that were identified in step 3, and then determine the service that is
currently using the ports needed for Insight Control.
8.
Contact your system administrator to release these ports.
Configuring Insight Control with a firewall
When managing virtual machine hosts behind a firewall, the firewall must be configured to enable Insight
Control virtual machine management and Insight Control traffic through the firewall. The following ports are
used:
•
Communication between browsers and the HP Insight Control server migration Web Service uses HTTP
over port 50000.
•
Communication between the HP Insight Control server migration Web Service and Insight Control (both
on the Insight Control application station) uses SSL over port 51124.
•
Communication between the HP Insight Control server migration Web Service and HP Insight Control
remote management uses port 51125 for auto-destination boot.
•
Communication between Insight Control and the migration agent (on physical servers, virtual machines,
and virtual machine hosts) uses SSL over port 51125.
•
Communication between the migration agents during migration operations uses SSL over port 51126.
•
Communication on the application server for Insight Control Web Server uses port 51127.
