Setting Consistent Device Naming
You can select the level of Consistent Device Naming. On supported operating systems, NIC ports
are named based on their location in the system.
To set device naming:
1.
From the System Utilities screen, select System Configuration
→BIOS/Platform Configuration
(RBSU)
→Advanced Options→Advanced System ROM Options→Consistent Device Naming and
press Enter.
2.
Select one of the following options:
•
CDN Support for LOMs only—Embedded NICs and FlexibleLOM (not NICs installed in
expansion slots) are named based on their location in the system.
•
Disabled (default)—All NIC ports are named based on their location in the system.
3.
Press F10 to save your selection.
NOTE:
Existing NIC connections retain their names until reinstalled under the OS environment.
