Step 7 Press the Start button.
Loopback entry and pattern generation occurs immediately after the link partners
complete training. SSC is enabled within the transmitted loopback pattern. If the
analyzer is used to record the exchange, the loopback traffic should appear in
both upstream and downstream directions, with individual BERT ordered sets.
In the image below, the Voyager initiates loopback testing on a host (upstream)
port. Uncheck the Hide Logical Idle Packets option, on the toolbar or View
menu. Then use the Link Tracker to verify that the pattern is transmitted, as
shown below.

The loopback sequence is transmitted for the defined interval and automatically
repeats until the Stop button is pressed. The Electrical Test window
automatically monitors the loopback patterns for receiver errors and displays the
following:

Number of Received Errors
•
Status of Loopback Mode
