Host Circuits Field Descriptions
Host #: This field identifies the number associated with each Host Circuit. These
numbers are index numbers and are automatically assigned by the CNA-8000 during the
configuration process.
Name: This is the common alphanumeric name assigned to the Host Circuit during the
configuration process.
PUID: This field identifies the four byte (8 hex character) PUID field presented to
VTAM during the XID negotiation. Each PUID should be unique and corresponds to the
VTAM PU definitions for IDBLK and IDNUM in the associated switched PU definition.
Circuit Status: This field identifies the status of the Host Circuit interface. Possible
states are:
Active – VTAM has activated the PU. The interface is open to connections and
general traffic.
Inactive – VTAM has not activated the PU, or the PU has become inactive.
Channel Status:
This field indicates the status of the channel path associated with
this Host Circuit.
Action:
This field contains two buttons, the [Trace] button and [List Unconnected]
button, described below.
Button Descriptions
Trace: Displays an SNA data trace in hex at the session level. Reference the CNA-8000
Problem Determination manual for more information on traces.
List Unconnected:
Provides a list of clients that have unsuccessfully attempted to
connect to this Host Circuit.
Return: Pressing this button returns you to the previous panel, the main status panel
showing the ESCON status.
