CU Status: This is the current status of the CU. Possible states are:
Unconfigured – This is the normal state before the ESCON has been configured
for the first time
Offline – Not currently communicating with the host.
Waiting for Path – State that occurs if the logical path has been established and
then the logical path is removed.
Logical Path Established – Host communication has been established. Active
sessions can occur.
Subchannels: This is a general status for the XCA subchannels configured to the CU
displayed. If all subchannels are up, the status should indicate green. If only part of the
configured subchannels is active, then the status should indicate yellow. If none of the
subchannels are active, then the status should indicate red. Textually, an indicator
describes how many of the configured subchannels are active (such as ‘2 of 3 Active’).
Alarm: This status indicates an alarm status if one exists.
Internal LAN Status Field Descriptions
Host Circuits: Indicates the number of Host Circuits configured and how many of those
are active.
Gateway Circuits: The Gateway Circuit status reflects the number of active PUs that is
communicating through the CNA-8000. Since some PUs can dynamically connect
through the CNA-8000, the total number does not necessarily reflect the total number of
PUs that may typically connect through the platform, but is a total of those that are
statically configured and those that are dynamically active through the platform.
Button Descriptions
Driver Trace: Pressing this button will display a data trace at the driver level. This is
intended primarily for Visara support personnel. Each channel card has a separate driver
trace.
