Floppy Drive Removal/Installation
This component is not hot-swappable, meaning system power must be
turned off before removal and installation.
To remove the drive:
1. Power down the system and then remove the top cover of the
chassis.
2. Disconnect the HDD interface ribbon cable and the power
connector from the unit.
3. Push the latch located at the rear of the floppy drive bay and push
the drive out through the front of the chassis. The illustration
shows how to remove the drives and how to mount each drive on
the rails, which are needed to slide them into the open chassis bays.
Reverse this procedure to reinstall the drives, making sure the latch
clicks when reinserting the drive bay into the chassis. Replace the top
cover when finished.
Note: The red wire on a ribbon cable typically designates the location
of pin 1.
